I really had high expectations for this one knowing that it was from director Joe Dante (Gremlins, The Howling). Even though the film was pretty good, overall the 3D was a disappointment. Don't get me wrong, occasionally the 3D was superb (looking up from the hole, the clown etc) but once again it was inconsistent and moved from a deepish 3D to a shallower one. I got the impression that the 3D was amped up for the moments of peril. Personally, I would have preferred it throughout and with a bit more depth.
