As with other CGI 3D animations, I feel as though the animators of Cars 2 have gone for a creative balance between the 3D depth and the animation itself. The result is that the cars and other objects have a solid look to them in 3D, to the point where at times they look almost real. Although the 3D depth is less deep than I personally like it (compared to some live action movies) I will still give this the 3D logo for the overall consistency of the 3D animation. There's no doubting that Cars 2 is a visually beautiful film and the 3D helps to bring everything to life. Does it have the full blown depth of the best live action 3D movie though? No, not quite.(V)
