Despicable Me

3DA
Despicable Me is a fun 3D animation with great characters (namely Gru and his minions)  and a big heart. With regards the 3D, although its a bit inconsistent in places, there are some great 3D moments which are up there with the best of the best. These are mainly during Gru's capture of the Moon where we are treated to 3D with great depth, the kind that 3D fans would hope to see in all 3D movies. Incidentally, during these moments I was reminded of H.G. Well's "The Man Who Could Work Miracles". If the moon was removed, wouldn't there be giant tidal waves and mass destruction to the earth? Oh well, this is a children's cartoon after all. Because of the slight inconsistencies of the 3D, Despicable Me, great as the movie is, doesn't quite reach the 3D pinnacles and so receives the slightly diluted 3D animation logo.  But at Play.com
